So I just picked up San Andreas for the PC. Woot. :) I stick the disc into the drive to install it and nothing comes up. :angry: I went to My Computer and clicked ont he CD drive and got the message, "insert cd" when the disc was already in. It's the San Andreas second edition and it's a dvd-rom. I've had dvd-roms work before. Any ideas?

Also keep in mind when you get it installed you will have to downgrade your version in order to install mods of any kind (this includes MTA).

Got two DVD drives? The game doesn't work in one of mine for some reason.

Hmm thats very weird it never happend to me but keep tying and hopefully it will work.

I went back and traded the game in. I don't think my CD drive recognizes DVD-ROM's even though I can burn DVD's. No matter. I'll pick it up again another time. I ended up getting a mic instead. It's this really comfortable one from Logitech so if anyone wants to chat over XFire, hit me up. Also, I might get Vent or the other voice communication software but I can't remember what it's called.

Damn, I really wanted to play San Andreas on the PC. When the first edition of SAn Andreas for the PC came out, did they have a CD-ROM and DVD-ROM editions?

No. One of the first PC games to be only DVD.

I have the second edition and it sucks cuz you cant have no mods.

You are able to downgrade to the 1st version however. You can do so here. :)
